Unfortunately, 5PEAKS winners were disqualified under cheating.
Due to the occurrence and report of cheating, we have completed the inspection with a detailed record inquiry, GPS inspection, phone calls to the nearby winners, and as a result, the top 5 PEAKS male and female runners are disqualified. Due to the disqualification of the two competitors, 5PEAKS male and female ranked 2nd to 4th will now be ranked 1st to 3rd.
The adjusted result will be sent to LIVE TRAIL and reflected when uploading the final result.
As a result of the call with the players concerned, we believe that they lacked awareness of the rules of the competition. In the future, we, as organizers, will be more careful and attentive to ensure that all players are more familiar and well prepared with the rules of the competition.
Please join us to establish a sound and fair trail running culture, and please refrain from criticizing towards the concerned runners and the situation.
As the 2020 HIGHTRAIL NINE PEAKS Medal was produced three months before the date of the competition, the distance and altitude were marked before the course change, and 'TRAIL' was spelled as 'TRIL'.
So we are planning to re-produce and send the medal to all the finishers again.
The estimated production time will take 1 to 1.5 months, and we will send you a text message before sending it.
We ask for your kind understanding.

The mandatory gears for the trail running competition must be brought with you for safe competition.
Pre-competition on-site mandatory gear inspection is not carried out due to COVID - 19, and all CPs are walking-thru, including the multi-functional welcome center - the start/finish area.
In the stadium and CPs, it is one way only. If not for injury or special reasons, the time to stay in the stadium and CPs will be limited, so we ask for your understanding and cooperation to operate the competition without infection.
✅Pre-competition on-site mandatory gear inspection is not carried out, but all 9 peaks participants will be checked after finishing.
✅Mandatory Gear inspection items are as follows:
- Warm/wind jacket (Windwall, fleece, and light-padded jackets are all acceptable -9 peaks area in Ulsan is very cold, so be sure to be thoroughly prepared for cold weather)
- Warm gloves (9 peaks only)
- Backpack (VEST)
- Head lantern
- Redlight (9 peaks only)
- emergency kit
- Waterproof jackets and waterproof pants will be included in the inspection in case of rain.
✅ Paper cups, disposable spoons, and chopsticks are not provided in the CPs. If you don't have personal cups and personal utensils, you may not be able to eat, so please bring it with you. (Personal spoons have been added to the equipment inspection item along with the personal cups)
✅ Five and two peaks conduct mandatory gear inspection on the top results group runners from each group at the finish. (The exact number of people subject to mandatory gear inspection may vary depending on the site situation.)
✅ Arbitrary mandatory gear inspection can be carried out in the CPs other than finish equipment inspection. If there is no mandatory gear with the runner at the CP, the runner may no longer be possible to proceed if safety concerns are determined by the operation team leader and medical staff. (e.g., if there is no lantern in the night, if there is no warm clothing in the danger of body temperature drop, if there is an injury that the doctor finds difficult to proceed if the trail running shoes are not worn, if the waterproof gears are not prepared when it rains, if the competition is no longer possible due to other safety concerns, etc.)
✅ The final determination of equipment suitability is based on the judgment of the competition management team. If the time penalty is applied due to missing equipment, there will be a ranking change, which will result in DNF if the time limit is exceeded.
✅ First of all, please make sure that you prepare the necessary equipment for the safety of your fellow athletes and staff members.
✅ If the gear is not mentioned above but listed on the hightail website, please prepare it as well
The 9PEAKS final course, which was informed in advance of the emergency notice, has been confirmed.
In addition, some courses of the 2Peaks and 5Peaks have been changed for climb certification, and have been extended by about 3km.
With the extension of the course, the total cut-off time was extended by one hour to pm 6:00, and the ITRA points rose by one point to two and three points each.
Please check the detailed course information, the cut-off time for each section, and the overall cut-off time on the detailed page for each course.
Information on departure/arrival and operation, information on equipment check online and during the competition, information on use of CP and prevention of COVID-19 will be delivered to participants next week.
I'm giving you an urgent notice of the course change.
Among the 9 Peaks courses, the sections around Hyangro Mountain and Hyangro Peak were considered to be damaged by the typhoon, resulting in some lost courses or difficulty in short-term restoration.
In addition, it was decided to delete the Hyangro-Banaecheon section after the summit of Jae Yaksan Mountain for safety reasons, as most participants pass after sunset.
As a result, the entire nine-peaks course will be reduced to 105.6 km and the overall time limit will be reduced as the course changes.
The deletion does not affect “9 peaks”, and there is no change in the 9 peaks complete certification and the ITRA point (6).
Many people seem to be planning to visit during the holiday season, so I'm giving you an urgent notice, so if you've planned to visit the course, please shorten it to Jae Yaksan Mountain, Sapyeong, Cheolguso, Cheongsugol, and Hambak.
The decision was made with the safety of the runners and staff at the top of the list, so please understand the sudden change in the course.
We will update the changed course map, the COT by section, and the time limit on 12/10 on the official website.
The application for 'B Group' in the 5peaks of 2020 HIGH TRAIL NINE PEAKS ULJU has been closed due to over quota.
All other courses are also closed, so you can only apply for 1 PEAK.
I'm sorry for those who were disappointed with the deadline earlier than expected.
For the safety of all participants, the number of applicants is limited, so we ask for your understanding.
Thanks for your interest and support!
